[Rally Driving Course at Oran Park]
[The Tales of Hoffmann]
Diane's
birthday
present
was
a
Sideways
Action
rally
driving
course
at
Oran
Park
raceway.We
booked
through
Atomic
Dog
which
seemed
to
be
a
bit
cheaper
than
booking
directly
with
Sideways
Action.
After
a
briefing
on
safe
driving
in
the
Wayne
Gardner
Demountable,
the
drivers
took
turns
in
the
two
vehicles
while
friends
and
family
clustered
around
the
shade
of
a
marquee.

Other
people
were
kind
enough
to
identify
the
makes
of
car,
otherwise
I'd
be
calling
them
the
"yellow
car",
"blue
car"
etc.

2003-09-20I'm
not
really
an
opera
fan
--
the
high
points
of
the
evening
for
me
were:
- the
opening
words
"Gloop,
gloop!"
- Hoffmann's
rather
scary
lapels
- the
sinister
stage
presence
of
the
baddie
- the
extremely
low
ticket
price
The
work
was
in
English,
and
I
understood
it
all
(or
could
at
least
make
up
a
vaguely
consistent
storyline
in
my
head)
until
the
very
last
scene,
when
I
had
no
idea
what
was
going
on.
