Spider
Pods!

Leaving
the
comfort
and
civilization
of
Chippendale,
NSW,
we
set
off
to
rent
my
sister's
house
in
Wooloowin,
a
suburb
of
Brisbane.
We
picked
the
hottest
summer
in
living
memory
to
do
this.
A
mango
tree
outside
the
kitchen
window
housed
enough
spiders
to,
well,
make
an
enormous
spider
casserole
I
suppose.
The
spiders
subsist
on
billions
of
mosquitoes.
Your
average
Queensland
tree
is
more
likely
to
sprout
giant
pods
than
fruit
-
I'm
surprised
more
fatalities
aren't
reported
in
the
news
from
deadly
falling
pods.
The
house
came
complete
with
a
cat
named
George
and
a
Nintendo-64
games
console
-
I'm
not
sure
which
was
the
more
entertaining.

Happiness
is
living
within
an
easy
walk
of
a
second-hand

Sadly
leaving
the
mind-sapping
100%
humidity
of
Brisbane,
a
mysterious
divergence
occurred
